Sunny Beach The
Black Sea Coast of Bulgaria is a classic collection of broad bays and golden sweeps of glorious sand that gently slopes beneath
the waves. These resorts have been a well kept secret... ...until now, with fine hotels and a feast of watersports, making
Bulgaria one of our top family destinations. Sunny Beach has 7km of gently shelving golden sands alongside a selection of
shops, bars, restaurants, disco's, nightclubs and a casino. A few miles further along the coast is the old 17th century
town of Nessebar, with its wooden houses and narrow cobbled streets, a harbour and the remains of many Byzantine churches.
Elenite is a holiday village
that sits at the head of a bay 10km from Sunny Beach
and offers plenty of sports and entertainment for all the family. Elenite is a must see resort of picturesque hotel clusters, two-storey bungalows with elements of Nessebar architecture
keeping the principles of Bulgarian National Revival town construction at its heart.
Eating out Bulgaria has lots to offer and the Khans Tent several kilometres north of Sunny Beach is a spectacular venue that sits on
top of a hill. Set in a secluded wooded setting with beautiful views of the coast below, it is supposedly where Khan Krum
had a military encampment in 812AD and is now the venue of a spectacular evening excursion where you are wined and dined,
watch Bulgarian show dancers and marvel in the Bulgarian hospitality as you watch the sun go down. Conventional Bulgarian
cooking means some foods are not served piping hot and the variety of food on offer is limited. Veal, Fish, green beans
and potatoes form part of the Bulgarians staple diet. However, there are plenty of bars and restaurants serving hot food to
tourists as Bulgaria is becoming a more popular destination.
Places to see The stunning Stranja National Park borders Turkey
and is the largest protected area in Bulgaria. Journey in a 4x4 on a Jeep Safari through amazing mountain scenery taking in
waterfalls, secret caves, local life and the village of Brashlyan, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Attractions The Aquapark at Kuban Hotel is the oldest Aquapark
in the resort of Sunny Beach. Guests of the hotel can enjoy such water attractions as Curving Dragon, Blackhole, Braid and
the ultimate Kamikaze as well as other smaller slides for the more faint hearted among us. There is also 2 bars and a Mexican
restaurant serving excellent dishes to satisfy the taste buds of any gourmet.
Getting around There
are regular bus services linking the coastal resorts and towns which are very reasonably priced. Taxis are readily available
and there are small motorised tourist trains to help you get around.
