Romantic, chic and spectacularly beautiful, Italy, is the perfect place to unwind. With fabulous coasts offering limitless rugged cliffs sheltering tiny coves, long sandy beaches lined with parasols make for the perfect holiday setting. Picturesque villages cling to hillsides and olive groves run as far as the eye can see. Italy is one of the most diverse countries in Europe and is surrounded by stunning scenery steeped in a fascinating history that is longing to be explored.

Sorrento
Looking out over the Bay of Naples and up to Mount Vesuvius, Sorrento is the place to relax in typical Italian style. A vibrant piazza, pavement cafes, restaurants, shops and seafront sunbathing platforms create a lovely atmosphere for a relaxing holiday.

St Agnello
Set on the second of five areas on the peninsula, away from Sorrento's busy centre, St Agnellois peacefully located and enveloped by pretty lemon and orange groves. Boasting beautiful hotels and a welcoming village atmosphere it provides a lovely base for exploring and relaxing at your own pace.

Lido di Jeselo
This modern purpose built resort provides a wide range of activities. Stroll along the lively promenade lined with designer shops and enjoy the great selection of restaurants and bars with varied evening entertainment. The golden sandy beach stretches for 17km and boasts shallow calm waters that are great for children.

Places to see
Pompeii is a fantastic holiday experience and at Vesuvius you can climb to the rim of the Caldera. Embark on a journey through one of the most romantic and unique cities in the world, the gondolas, bridges and squares of Venice are a must see. Families will love the theme parks around Lake Garda for a fun packed family day out.

Eating out
Naples is known as the birthplace of the pizza, so this is, naturally, the staple of the region. Baccala alla vicentina (cod in milky sauce) fegato alla veneziana (a liver and onion dish) are among the food specialities on the Venetian Riviera, whereas Lake Garda is well known for its oil which has been produced in the area since Roman times. The typical average cost of a three course meal is £15, a bottle of wine £5, a bottle of beer £3 and soft drinks £2.

Getting around
There are frequent bus and train services between Naples and Sorrento, Boats and hydrofoils link the town with resorts along the coast, as well as with the island of Capri and Ischia. Venice has an excellent public transport system on a variety of waterbuses, water taxis and ferries run a frequent service to the lagoon islands.
