Malta Malta is a small, beautiful island where the sun shines down on countless
rocky inlets and various sandy beaches. Golden Bay, Mellieha Bay and Paradise Bay are three of the best. You'll spot many
British influences here, and as the Maltese speak English you can really get to grips with the island's history, nightlife
and culture. If you get the chance, explore the capital, Valletta, to see palaces and narrow streets, but otherwise you can
just enjoy sunbathing, watersports, lidos and picturesque harbours.
Mellieha Mellieha is
great for couples and families alike, Mellieha offers the islands longest sandy beach, clear, gently-shelving waters, a good
range of watersports and a choice of bars to enjoy. Restaurants and bars can be found along the bay as well as in Mellieha
Village, which overlooks the bay from a hilltop.
Bugibba The popular resort of Bugibba is
an ideal choice for your holiday destination, making up part of the district of St Paul's Bay, Bugibba has a lot to offer.
As well as a picturesque seafront and promenade, it offers a great choice of cafe's, seafood restaurants, bars and a casino.
The nearby fishing village of St Paul's has rocky beaches and excellent watersports.
Sliema Sliema (pronounced 'slee-maa'), with the nearby areas of St Julian's and St George's Bay, is in the largest
and most modern area of Malta and one of the island's most popular tourist destinations. There is a thriving shopping
area and it's also one of the island's most fashionable residential areas.
Xemxija The quaint village of Xemxija overlooks St Paul's Bay and fertile valleys. A relaxing place with a rocky beach, small
fishing harbours and spectacular scenery, it's an ideal resort for couples looking for a quiet, cultural break as much
of the nightlife can be found in neighbouring Buggiba and Qawra.
Qawra Qawra is one of Malta's
most well established holiday resorts, it has a modern pedestrianised centre and a range of facilities that cater for mainly
British tastes. The resorts own rocky beach offers a range of watersports, while the nearest sandy beach is in Mellieha Bay,
7km away.
