Algarve With
glorious sunshine and sandy beaches, the Algarve on Portugal's south coast is a great location for your summer break.
A range of resorts offer everything from sandy beaches, lively bars and marinas lined with yachts, to peaceful cobbled streets
and seafood restaurants. Excellent golf courses line the coast and there are plenty of watersports on offer too. When it comes
to sights, there's plenty to see including the flame red castle at Silves and the local fiestas that run on into the night.
Albufeira Albufeira is a popular resort offering a great selection of bars, shops and restaurants.
Its central position on the Algarve coast makes it ideal for getting around and visiting nearby attractions. Albufeira is
ideal for any type of holidaymaker seeking wonderful views, golden sandy beaches and a lively nightlife.
Monte
Gordo Located in the east, close to Spain, is the one time fishing village of Monte Gordo. The relaxed mood
and sandy beach plus a choice of shops, bars and restaurants serving the best in seafood, local cuisine and international
dishes, and even a casino, all means that popularity is assured.
Praia do Vau Praia
do Vau is one of the western Algarves most popular beaches. Traditionally, this was the beach of choice for many wealthy Portuguese
families that spent their summer in the Algarve. Today, it is popular with visitors and residents alike. Access
to the beach is direct and easy. There are sunbeds and shades for hire and some water sports available. The beach is serviced
by a selection of restaurants serving snacks and meals all day long. Praia do Vau is popular with families as the water is
calm and the quality excellent. The beach can become very crowded during high season, particularly at high tide, but even
that does not detract from its beauty. From the main stretch of Praia do Vau beach you can walk towards the East (at low tide)
all the way to Praia da Rocha. Towards the west you have the beach Praia do Alemão and many rock pools and coves to
explore. In fact, you can walk from the beach onto the cliffs tops and all the way to Prainha and Praia de Alvor.
Caramujeira Situated along the coast of Carvoeiro is the beautiful rural resort of Caramujeira. Still
close enough to Carvoeiro to enjoy all its amenities, but far enough away to enjoy peace and tranquillity, this unspoilt resort
offers a great place to relax. The nearby beaches of Benigil and Praia Da Marinha are also a delight to discover.
Acoteias The majority of Acoteias's tourist accommodation is to be found slightly away from the
village, towards the coast. Basking in the sun is the resort's excellent beach, Praia de Falesia. Lounge around on the
beach and sift fine sand through your fingers as you listen to the gentle lapping of waves on shore. A handful of excellent
Portuguese restaurants pepper this most delightful of resorts while nearby Albufeira and Sao Joao offer even more in the way
of bars, shops and restaurants.
